The light that awakens
You can’t change them, no matter how you try.
Can’t mend their wounds or dry every eye.
But you can be a light, held steady and clear,
A soft, glowing presence that draws them near.
You can’t change their path, can’t mend their scars,
Can’t be the one healing the inner wars.
So be the light that’s soft and warm,
the gentle glow in the midst of the storm.
Focus on you, and the strength you hold,
The way you shine even when their world feels cold.
Tend to your flame, let it radiate bright,
And see how it can call those lost in the night.
In shadows they may roam,
But you can remind them there’s a place called home.
With the light on, and a safe place to land,
An offering, open, not a demand.
So tend to your flame, let it burn ever bright,
Trusting your glow is enough to ease the cold of night.
For though you can’t help with the path they have taken,
You can be the light that eventually leads them to awaken.
